Professor Ed van Tuijl
Ed has more than 35 years experience in the area of analog design, mixed-signal design and design management. He started his career at Philips Semiconductors and was one of the inventors of the TDA 1541 and TDA 1543. These audio DA converters are still among the best ever used in CD players. In 1993 Ed was invited to join the University of Twente as a part-time Professor. In this role he successfully supervised many Master and PhD students. In 1998 Ed joined Philips Research where he was involved in research on wireline communication, high-end audio DA converters and high speed AD converters. Ed is the author or co-author of many articles and conference contributions. He holds 20+ patents in different application areas.

Gerard Hoogendijk
Gerard has 25 years of experience in ASIC design. After 10 years as a design engineer he continued his career in management at Philips, in the area of industrial electronics, and later on at Ericsson for 3G base stations. Recently, he was part of the management team at ASIC design house Bruco where he fulfilled line, account and project management duties. Within Axiom IC he is responsible for finance and account management. He holds two patents.

Clemens Mensink

Clemens has 14 years of experience with analog and mixed-signal design. He did his PhD research at the University of Twente in the field of analog circuitry in sub-micron CMOS processes. He subsequently worked at Philips Semiconductors, Ericsson, Agere Systems and Bruco. At Bruco he was part of the management team and responsible for various projects and accounts. Within Axiom IC he renewed his carrier as a designer. Clemens holds one patent.

Simon Louwsma
Simon Louwsma received his MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Twente, The Netherlands, on a novel mixer topology, in 2001. Following that, he worked towards his PhD degree in the IC-design group at the same university. In 2007 he co-founded Axiom IC, and in 2009 he successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Time-interleaved Analog-to-Digital Converters”. In the last few years he has been involved in several data converter projects. Simon holds four patents and has authored or co-authored eight papers.

Daniël Schinkel

Daniel Schinkel received his MSc and PhD degree from the University of Twente, The Netherlands. The subject of his PhD work was high-speed on-chip communication and the research was carried out between 2003 and 2007 at the IC-design group, headed by Bram Nauta. During this period he also occasionally worked as a freelance consultant on the subject of sigma-delta converters. In 2007 he co-founded Axiom IC where he is involved in the architecture and design of mixed-signal circuits, especially sigma-delta data converters.

His technical interests include analog and mixed-signal circuit design, sigma-delta data converters, class-D power amplifiers, and high-speed communication circuits. He holds two patents and has authored or co-authored about 20 papers.
